Vol I. “Being with You”
“Being with you” is my debut solo piano album — a personal and deeply intimate project, composed as both a tribute and a letter to my daughter. The title track, like the entire album, reflects the sense of tenderness, gratitude, and quiet fullness I experience whenever I am with her. It is music born from love, presence, and the fragile yet profound moments that define our shared time.
The album was recorded in April 2020, in the early days of the global pandemic, inside the beautiful but so empty concert hall of the Funkhaus in Berlin. That strange and suspended time — when the world had come to a near standstill — created an unexpected space for reflection, focus, and creation. In the quiet of that abandoned hall, I found a rare stillness in which this music could unfold honestly, without ornament or distraction.
Stylistically, the album sits at the crossroads of jazz, classical music, and impressionism, drawing inspiration from artists who have shaped my musical language — Ravel, Chopin, Rachmaninov, and Bill Evans in particular. Their influence can be heard not in imitation, but in the spirit of exploration, lyricism, and harmonic depth that runs through the compositions.
Each piece is a self-contained story — some gentle, others more emotionally expansive — but all rooted in the idea that music can be both personal and universal. I believe that a single melodic phrase can carry the weight of silence, memory, or longing, and that solo piano, in its naked vulnerability, is the perfect medium for such expression.
“Being with you” is not just a collection of compositions; it is a record of a moment in time, a meditation on connection, and an offering of something quiet and sincere in a world often overwhelmed by noise.
